74HC595 Integrated Circuit (DIP-16)
The 74HC595 is an integrated shift register that facilitates the conversion of serial input data into parallel output. This is achieved by storing the serial data in a D-type flip-flop, which then delivers the output in parallel format as per the required state. The 9th pin of the 74HC595 allows for cascading integrations with other similar units.
