HC-SR501 Adjustable PIR Motion Detector
The HC-SR501 Adjustable PIR Motion Detector is a device that utilizes PIR (Passive Infrared Detector) sensors to detect the movement of people, animals, or other objects. These sensors are often employed in security systems such as burglar alarms and automatic lighting systems. They can also be integrated with microcontroller boards like Arduino.
Working Principle
When there is no movement, the digital output of the sensor remains at logic 0. However, upon detecting movement, it shifts to logic 1. The sensor board is equipped with two trimpots, Sx and Tx, which allow for adjustments to the sensor's sensitivity. The Sx pot modifies the detection range between 3 and 5 meters, while the Tx pot changes the duration of the logic 1 state after motion is detected.
