YL83 Arduino Raindrop Sensor Module
The YL-83 Arduino Raindrop Sensor Module is a versatile device that can read an analogue value on the sensor output pin, which is triggered by the contact of conductive lines drawn parallel to each other with water. This sensor module is not limited to Arduino and can be utilized with other development boards and microcontrollers. It provides both digital and analogue output, allowing you to measure rain intensity or detect rainfall using analogue signals from pin A0 or digital signals from pin D0, depending on your project requirements.
Key Features:
- Constructed with high-quality FR - 04 double material, with a large area of 5.0 * 3.8CM. The nickel-plated surface treatment enhances oxidation resistance, electrical conductivity, and overall lifespan.
- Equipped with a potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment.
- Output format includes digital switch output (0 and 1) and analog AO voltage output.
- Features a fixed bolt hole for easy installation.
- Comparator output provides a clean signal, good waveform, and strong driving ability of more than 15 mA.
- Utilizes the LM393 wide voltage comparator.
- Operates at a working voltage of 3.3 V to 5 V.
- Sensor Area dimensions: 50x38x10mm.
Usage:
When connected to a 5V power supply, the power lights turn on. Without water droplets on the sensor plate, the DO output is at a high level, and the switch lights are off. When a water droplet falls on the sensor, the DO output switches to a low level, and the switch indicator turns on. Once the water droplet is wiped away, the output returns to a high-level state.
The AO analog output can be connected to the microcontroller's AD port to measure the size of the raindrops. The DO TTL digital output can also be connected to the microcontroller to detect the presence of rain.

Package Includes:
- Rain Sensor
- Sensor comparator circuit output
- Jumper Cables
